Henfold Lane Apiary – hedgerow planting is about to happen
The Club needs more offers of bee-friendly plants suitable for the Henfold Lane Apiary. Currently we are seeking indigenous hedgerow plants typical of a Wealden copse along with shrub guards or spiral tree guards and canes or stakes, say 90 - 110 cm long. In addition we need shrubs to assist in screening the containers – for example holly, laurel, privet, or other suitable for neutral clay soil beneath a deciduous tree canopy. On the same day as a clearing work party (organised by Andrew Buchanan) we are having a shrub/whip planting work party. See below for details.
